A stainless steel monster on the test bench: long-term test of a high-quality gas barbecue
In this detailed test report, we take a close look at a popular gas barbecue that is often referred to as the "stainless steel monster" among barbecues. After several years of intensive use in a barbecue school, we want to find out whether it lives up to its reputation and whether the high investment was worth it.
First impressions and expectations
We first introduced this barbecue two years ago and were impressed by its quality and performance. The robust stainless steel construction and powerful burners promised a long-lasting and powerful barbecue experience.
The test of time
Since then, the barbecue has been through a lot. It was used almost daily in our barbecue school and had to withstand the toughest conditions. Here are our observations:
- Durability: the stainless steel components have proven to be extremely robust. Despite high temperatures and regular cleaning, they show hardly any signs of wear.
- Performance: The burners continue to deliver impressive heat output, ensuring perfect grilling results.
- Heat distribution: The heat is distributed evenly across the grilling surface, which leads to optimum grilling results.
- Cleaning: The removable parts make cleaning much easier.
What we noticed:
- Castors: The castors proved to be a weak point. The coating has come off in some places and rust has set in.
- Ignition: Occasionally there were problems igniting individual burners, which was due to soiling. However, the problem can be easily rectified by burning out the barbecue.
Overall, the barbecue exceeded our expectations. The robust construction, powerful burners and ease of use make it an excellent barbecue for discerning barbecue masters.
