Warranty conditions for Broil King barbecues

The Broil King warranty conditions extend and supplement the statutory claims of the purchaser, including the warranty rights against the seller and the rights in the context of product liability. With this guarantee, Broil King grants the customer additional claims against Broil King GmbH, which exist in addition to the statutory claims.

This Broil King guarantee is only valid for the original purchaser if he is a consumer and uses the barbecue for normal private use. The prerequisite is that the first purchaser has registered at www.broilking.de. The guarantee is valid from the date of purchase and applies to the defects listed below that occur during normal domestic use. The warranty only applies if all installation instructions and preventive maintenance and care measures in accordance with the operating instructions, which must be carried out by the purchaser, have been complied with.

This guarantee grants the registered first purchaser of the barbecue the following claims, to the extent permitted by law. The warranty claims are not transferable and cannot be extended by one of our representatives.

Installation must be in accordance with the enclosed installation instructions and all applicable regional and national building and fire codes for the warranty to be valid.

Warranty conditions for different grill series

The following warranty conditions apply to barbecues manufactured in 2020 and sold from the end of 2020. For older warranty periods, please refer to the respective user manuals. The warranty conditions contained in the user manual for the respective year of manufacture of the barbecue are decisive for the granting of the warranty. The figures in the table are the respective years.

Scope of the warranty

The warranty covers genuine Broil King® parts that are defective in material or workmanship and are covered by a valid and registered warranty. These defective parts will be repaired or replaced in accordance with the terms of this warranty (the choice of repair or replacement is at the discretion of Broil King GmbH) and there is no charge for the covered item or component.

What is included in the warranty?

This warranty covers major defects, such as rusting or burning through of the grill grates and burners, provided that the grill has been used properly and maintained in accordance with the care instructions provided in the user manual. It also covers significant defects that affect the safe and proper use of the barbecue, provided that the defect does not fall under the exclusions in "What is not covered?" below.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The following defects or damage are not covered by this warranty:

  1. Damage caused by accidents or improper use: This includes grease fires, environmental exposure, improper modifications, vandalism, faulty assembly, inadequate maintenance, negligence and lack of regular, routine care of the product. This category also includes damage caused by contamination or damage caused by insects or spiders in the burner tubes, as well as damage caused by rodents such as martens.

  2. Superficial damage: Scratches, dents, paint damage, coatings, corrosion or discoloration due to heat exposure or the use of abrasive and chemical cleaning agents, including chipping on porcelain-coated parts and components used in the installation of the gas barbecue.

  3. Normal wear and tear: This includes scratches, dents, discoloration or surface corrosion that occur in the course of use without significantly affecting the grill's condition or functionality.

  4. Force majeureor environmental factors: Destruction or damage caused by force majeure or weather conditions such as hail, hurricanes, earthquakes or floods. This excludes discoloration due to contact with chemicals, whether direct or from the atmosphere, or exposure to salty air or chlorine sources near the grill.

  5. Costs after 2 years: After 2 years from the date of purchase, shipping and transportation costs, relocation costs for reassembly, export duties, installation costs for set-up and repair, and service phone call costs are not included in the warranty.

  6. Commercial use: Gas barbecues used commercially, by state institutions or municipalities, multi-party houses, hotels, youth hostels, motels, restaurants, rental houses, etc. are excluded from this guarantee and only apply to private use.

  7. Faultscaused by improper use or maintenance: Faults caused by improper use or lack of maintenance are not covered by this guarantee.

  8. Damage to cast iron grates: Damage to cast iron grates caused by incorrect use or lack of care is not covered by this guarantee. Please observe the recommended uses and maintenance instructions in the operating instructions.

  9. Gas types not covered: In European countries, there are different types of gas that require special valves, nozzles and pressure regulators. Damage caused by failure to take these differences into account during commissioning is considered improper use and is not covered by this guarantee.

Spare parts

Only "originalBroil King® spare parts" may be used as replacement parts. The use of parts from another manufacturer will invalidate the warranty.

Burners

The life ofBroil King® stainless steel burners depends primarily on proper use, cleaning and maintenance.

Exclusion of liability

Compensation or replacement under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the barbecue.

If the entire grill or parts thereof are replaced under this warranty, only the remaining warranty period of the grill from the date of purchase will apply to the replaced grill or parts.

This exclusion of liability does not apply in the event of intent or gross negligence or in the event of injury to life, health or limb caused by BROIL KING or its agents.

Registering the barbecue

In order to take advantage of the comprehensive warranty services for your Broil King barbecue, it is necessary to register your barbecue online at www.broilking.de.

Registration must be completed within 24 months of the date of purchase to be eligible for the full warranty.

Warranty case

Every case covered by the warranty will be examined and processed directly by Broil King GmbH in cooperation with your authorized dealer. If necessary, defective parts must be returned to the warranty department of Broil King® GmbH. In order to claim the full warranty, the model number, serial number and proof of purchase are mandatory. To do this, please complete the form . If no proof of purchase is available, the warranty period will be determined based on the serial number of the grill. After inspection and assessment in accordance with the warranty conditions, Broil King GmbH will repair or replace the affected part.

Initial contact

When contacting the dealer or Broil King GmbH, please ensure that you have the proof of purchase, the model number, the serial number of the barbecue, a description of the fault and, if possible, photos or videos of the fault to hand.
