Axtschlag smoked chips are probably the best-known smoked chips in Germany. The pieces of wood have a good uniform grain size of 4 to 16mm and are easy to dose. The low residual moisture content of less than 18% of the smoker chips ensures a long burning time and enables good smoke development.
Whether gas, electric, charcoal barbecue or smoker, the smoking chips are versatile and easy to use. But smoke chips are a particularly good way of adding a smoky flavor to barbecued food for gas barbecues and electric barbecues.
However, chunks are more suitable for longer smoking due to their size, as they last longer.

Application:

Smoking chips in gas barbecues & electric barbecues
Place the desired amount of wood chips in a smoker box and place it on the grill grate. After a very short time, the Axtschlag smoking chips will begin to smoulder and give off their aromatic smoke.

Smoking chips in closed charcoal barbecues
Once the charcoal has burned through, reduce the bottom air supply to a minimum and place the desired quantity of smoking chips on the glowing charcoal. Close the lid and open the top air supply. The smoker chips will soon begin to emit their aromatic smoke.

Smoking chips in open charcoal barbecues
Once the charcoal has burned through, place the desired quantity of smoking chips on the glowing charcoal. After a short time, the Axtschlag Smoking Chips will begin to smoulder.

It is not necessary to soak the chips in water, as the chips will only start to smoulder when they are dry again.
